Pairing is normally a one-time procedure of a few minutes. If it fails repeatedly, one of three causes is almost always behind it. With this checklist you narrow the problem down quickly.
Follow the procedure exactly
The pairing procedure requires a specific order: secure the vehicle, put the receiver unit into pairing mode, then trigger the sequence on the remote. Pressing a button too early or too late makes the procedure fail. Go through the Meiller manual step by step and try again calmly.
Check the receiver unit
If the receiver unit does not react to the pairing command at all, it can be faulty or wrongly connected. A cross-test with a second, working remote brings clarity. The receiver unit itself is usually checked by a specialist workshop, as it is integrated into the vehicle electrics.
Transmitter without a usable signal
If the remote does not send a clean signal, for example due to empty batteries, corrosion or an electronics fault, the receiver cannot learn anything. Insert fresh batteries. If that does not help, send the device in for diagnosis. We test it completely and get back to you with a clear assessment.
Frequently asked questions
How often can I repeat the pairing?
As often as you like. The procedure does not wear out. If it fails several times despite the correct procedure, you should have the hardware on both sides checked.
Can a repaired ISAR 3 from ControlRepair24 be paired?
Yes. Every replacement device is fully tested and can be paired to an intact receiver unit. If you have questions about commissioning, we support you by phone.
How do I know whether transmitter or receiver is at fault?
With the cross-test: if a second remote also fails on the same vehicle, the receiver is at fault. If it works, your transmitter is the problem.
