The range of a radio remote is not a fixed value. It depends on several factors, some of which you can influence yourself. Here you learn how to get a weak radio path back under control.

Batteries first

Weak batteries are by far the most common cause of dropping range. Use high-quality batteries and change them all at the same time. This simple step alone restores the full radio path in many cases.

Obstacles and interference

Metal bodies, loading containers and concrete walls noticeably attenuate the radio signal. Other transmitters nearby can also cause temporary interference. Test the control outdoors with a clear line of sight to rule out such influences.

If the range still stays weak

If the range stays short despite fresh batteries and a clear path, the antenna is usually damaged or there is a fault in the high-frequency section. That cannot be fixed without expertise. Send the device in for a check.

Frequently asked questions

What is the normal range of the ISAR 3?

Outdoors with fresh batteries the radio remote reliably covers the usual working area around the vehicle. In halls or between metal bodies it is lower.

Can a broken antenna be repaired?

Yes. A damaged antenna is a common cause of short range and can be repaired. We then test the entire radio path.

Is it the remote or the vehicle?

If possible test a second remote. If it has the same short range, the receiver unit on the vehicle can also be affected.
