Sometimes everything works, sometimes nothing: sporadic dropouts are especially tricky because they are hard to demonstrate. Almost always one of a few typical causes is behind them, which a repair will reliably find.

Typical causes of dropouts

Common causes are worn or slightly corroded battery contacts that briefly interrupt power under vibration. Cold solder joints, fine hairline cracks on the board after a drop or starting corrosion after moisture are also candidates. All of these faults worsen over time.

Why you should not wait

A loose contact announces the final failure. It gets especially unpleasant when the control cuts out in the middle of tipping. Have the device checked while it still partly works, then the repair stays plannable.

How we fix the problem permanently

During the repair we test the complete electronics, renew weak solder joints and contacts and then test the device fully. Alternatively, through the exchange system you immediately get a tested replacement device with a twelve-month warranty.

Frequently asked questions

The fault only occurs in cold or heat, why?

Temperature changes make materials expand and contract. Cold solder joints and hairline cracks then open minimally and interrupt the contact. Exactly such faults are what we find during diagnosis.

Does contact spray help against the loose contact?

With slightly tarnished battery contacts it can help briefly. It does not remove the actual cause, such as a weak solder joint. Only a repair brings a lasting solution.

Will the fault definitely be found during diagnosis?

Sporadic faults require a thorough check of the entire electronics. That is exactly what we specialise in. Every device leaves us only after a complete functional test.
